Oh look who is showing up for the “this is censorship” game, finally. It’s the European Union and the United Nations. You know, the ones who’ve never had a cross word for Twitter bans before? The union that loves censorship in its own countries and the global organization that answers to China and coddles terror states!
They are really upset about a CNN guy getting suspended for sharing realtime location information after the policy was explicitly made clear to them!
THE EU! They’re threatening sanctions against an American company! And the press LOVES IT!!
News about arbitrary suspension of journalists on Twitter is worrying. EU’s Digital Services Act requires respect of media freedom and fundamental rights. This is reinforced under our #MediaFreedomAct. @elonmusk should be aware of that. There are red lines. And sanctions, soon.

And the United Nations is worried about PRECEDENTS??
Absolutely laughable.
Twitter on Thursday suspended the accounts of several prominent journalists who recently wrote about its new owner Elon Musk, in a move the United Nations says “sets a dangerous precedent at a time when journalists all over the world are facing censorship, physical threats and even worse.” The billionaire tweeting that rules banning the publishing of personal information applied to all, including journalists.
They never gave a damn before.
I would say “Welcome to the party pal” but they don’t actually care anyway, it’s just more theater. And an excuse to hit at American interests and internet dominance.
