Rep. Andy Biggs says McCarthy won’t have the votes to be Speaker and explains what will happen next

Andy Biggs doesn’t believe Kevin McCarthy will have the votes to become Speaker by the time January 3rd rolls around when the voting occurrs.

He told Charlie Kirk yesterday “Kevin McCarthy doesn’t have the votes now and he’s not going to get them by January 3rd. He’s going to offer up anything he can think of to try to get those votes and then on January 3rd he won’t get the votes.”

Biggs continued “Then we’ll move into conference and we will find a more consensus, convivial candidate that we can support and we’ll go out and elect them to be Speaker of the House.”

Kirk interjected that what Biggs is proposing sounds like it’s going to be a circus.

Biggs repsonded that he’s not afraid of a circus, nor is he afraid of a little bit of chaos to get someone who is not an establishment type candidate to be Speaker.

Biggs says his name is in the mix to be Speaker, but goes on to name potential candidates like Jim Jordan, Mike Johnson or Steve Scalise who he could see running the House.
