Rep. Steve King being smeared over ‘incendiary’ comments on Gordon Liddy Show

From Politico:

King also said that he was “offended” by both Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.

“When you look at this administration, I’m offended by Eric Holder and the president also, their posture. It looks like Eric Holder said that white people in America are cowards when it comes to race,” said King. “And I don’t know what the basis of that is but I’m not a coward when it comes to that and I’m happy to talk about these things and I think we should.”

King added: “But the president has demonstrated that he has a default mechanism in him that breaks down the side of race – on the side that favors the black person.

I wondered what the full context of his comments were so I went to RCPVideos and listened to it. Hat tip to our good friends for posting his full comments earlier today. What I found was he said exactly what they printed, but he said alot more after that. In fact Political Correction cut off his sentence to grab that bite to crucify him. They posted the audio earlier today as well, which is where Politico went to listen. They cut the audio right as he said “black people” and didn’t let it continue. If they had, his comments might well be more understandable.

I’ve gone back to the podcast to bring you his full comments on the issue (my thoughts are below the jump):

In my opinion, he justified his comments quite well, and I completely agree with him. He wasn’t being racist himself, he was simply stating truth, truth which is offensive to those who don’t want to believe it. Obama did jump to the side of the professor, stating that the cop acted stupidly when he admitted he didn’t have the details. In Arizona, he’s siding with illegal immigrants when he and his people haven’t even read the law. He’s done nothing but redistribute wealth since he’s been in office, which at best class warfare and racist.

Our President does side with minorities by default and that’s the truth. I applaud Steve King for standing up for the truth and I hope more have the gonads to follow in his footsteps.
