It’s been reported last night and today that Joe Biden is about to order millions more barrels of oil from the emergency strategic reserve as a ploy to help Democrats in November.
The reporting started last night:
Scoop: Biden admin to release another 10-15 million oil barrels from nation’s emergency stockpile in bid to balance markets/keep gas prices from climbing, sources tell @jendlouhyhc @AriNatter & me. It’s latest tranche from 180m-barrel plan. WH to also share plans to replenish SPR

And then today…
Asked about our reporting on Biden planning to withdraw more barrels of oil from the already-announced 180 million SPR barrel release, @presssec says: "We are going to make an announcement tomorrow and so I will let the president speak for himself."

CBS News also weighs in, noting the timing with the November midterms:
President Biden is expected to announce the release of more oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Just a few weeks out from the November midterms, the White House is going to "great lengths," according to CBS News' @edokeefe, to show it is focused on driving prices down. pic.twitter.com/Qf3uQIZ4EV

This is obviously being done by Biden to give Democrats something to run on in the last few weeks of the campaign cycle, to try and convince those undecided voters to vote for Democrats.
But just like before it’s a total waste. Biden refuses to do what needs to be done to unleash the American oil and gas sector which would have solved the problem of high gas prices many months ago, or at least put us on the path to much lower gas prices. Then he could say he’s really done something.
But Biden hates oil and gas and that’s another reason he’s wasting our reserves as a political ploy to try and win an election.
Some are saying this is impeachable:
impeachment-worthy

This is impeachable. Using emergency reserves for what is a blatant political ploy before an election. https://t.co/6FnwSLJIKI

I couldn’t agree more. And when Republicans win in November they ought to go after Biden for this. But you and I both know that won’t happen.
