Catherine Herridge at CBS News is reporting that the DOJ has already been reviewing Ukraine materias for several weeks and that AG Barr has ordered an official review:
CBS NEWS – Justice Department officials have been “quietly” reviewing records and documents from Ukraine for “several weeks,” a source familiar with the matter tells CBS News.
The source said staff outside of Main Justice in Washington have been assigned by Attorney General William Barr to review the Ukraine matter, adding that the review is being handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh and is separate from U.S. Attorney John Durham’s probe into the origins of the FBI’s Russia probe.
The new review includes some material provided by Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal attorney, but goes beyond matters regarding former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company.
So not only is Lindsey Graham looking into Ukraine matters related to Joe and Hunter Biden, but Barr has apparently started his own investigation. This has got to be unnerving for Joe Biden, who is struggling in New Hampshire tonight.
I really like all that I’m hearing about Barr today. I know the heads of liberals are exploding all over the place; I see online accusations of a cover up by Barr – seriously, what’s new about that.
Like I said in my earlier post, I hope it’s all true. The Obama administration did great damage to the DOJ and related federal law enforcement departments, and as much as I liked Jeff Sessions, Barr is clearly much better for Trump.
