Both Nancy Pelosi and Pramila Jayapal were both cagey today when asked about supporting Joe Biden as the nominee.
Pelosi said she’s always been committed to Biden but then refused to answer when asked if Biden is the best person to be the nominee:
I asked PELOSI if she’s still committed to supporting Biden:
“I’ve always been committed to him.”
Then I asked if he’s the best person for the ticket.
“I’m not making any statement right now here in the hall. When I’m ready to make a statement I will.”

Jayapal gave some a weird response, signaling she’s open to Biden not being the nominee:
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, on President Biden: I am fully behind him as our nominee until he's not our nominee.

There’s been no question that support for Joe Biden after the debate two weeks ago has been shaky. But these two top Democrats giving these kind of responses indicate the party isn’t coming together like they want us to believe.
