If we are indeed handing over control of the airport to the Taliban, then I guess that means we’re done evacuating people. So then the question becomes, how many Americans are we leaving behind?
UPDATE: Taliban says the US has abandoned most of the airport and they are tweeting victory:
Update: #Taliban sources say“three key portions” in the military part of the Kabul airport” have been fully evacuated by the Americans and Taliban have taken control of them. “A very small part now remains with the Americans.” https://t.co/1W4lL8JYHY

The one tweet from Ayaz Gul suggested that we are still on the airport but in a smaller section. So maybe both things are true?
Also, the Biden administration disputes that they will be handing over control of the airport tonight:
Not accurate, per @emilyhorne46 of NSC. https://t.co/eVREA7HMt5

The BBC reporter above has deleted her tweet and explains that her reporting was not confirmed:
I deleted my previous tweet regarding the airport as I haven’t been able to confirm it with Coalition officials yet. I will post once I have more details

UPDATE: Now it’s being reported that the Taliban have taken over ‘parts’ of the airport:

This seems to jive with the reporting above.
