Trump met with Republican Senators today at noon to discuss what to do when the Supreme Court rules on DACA in June. According to this report, Trump signaled that he’s open to shielding DACA recipients from deportation, assuming SCOTUS rules that he can dismantle the program:
Pres. Trump told GOP senators today he's open to shielding DACA recipients from deportation, a source familiar told @CBSNews' @finnygo.
But Trump said he wants to address the "underlying problem" only *after* the Supreme Court rules on whether he can end the program, per source.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. In early 2018 Trump was signaling the same thing before DACA got tied up in the courts. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, Trump was open to expanding the protections to even those eligible for DACA and not just those enrolled.
So how will it play if Trump doesn’t deport DACA recipients who are here illegally? I’m sure there will be plenty of Americans who don’t like it, but at the end of the day I doubt Trump will have many consequences from it politically.
Personally I’m of the mind that considering Trump is building the wall and has worked so hard to stem the flow of immigrants to the southern border, even enlisting Mexico to help with the situation, it won’t change that much for me. I won’t stay at home in November for sure and I definitely won’t start pulling for Biden like a Never-Trumper.
