REPORT: US warns Iran it will RESPOND militarily to significant coordinated attack

The US has reportedly warned Iran and its militia proxies that if they launch a significant coordinated attack against Israel, that it will respond militarily.

Here’s the news:

Senior U.S. Officials have reportedly been Warning the Iranian Government and Iranian-Backed Militias in the Middle East such as Hezbollah for several weeks now, both Directly and through Back-Channels in Countries like Turkey, that if they decide to launch a Significant or Coordinated Attack on Israel then the United States will Respond Militarily.

The source for this is the New York Times:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken made an unannounced visit to Baghdad on Sunday, sending a message to Iran and its proxies about the Biden administration’s commitment to defending its partners and U.S. personnel amid concerns of a wider conflict.

Tensions have been rising in the Middle East since Israel launched its military operation intended to crush Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to the group’s brazen Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

“It was very important to send a very clear message to anyone who might seek to take advantage of the conflict in Gaza to threaten our personnel here or anywhere else in the region: Don’t do it,” Mr. Blinken said in a brief address from the Baghdad airport, before leaving for meetings with Turkish leaders in Ankara on Monday.

Mr. Blinken’s visit to Iraq, during which he also expressed support for its prime minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, was the latest stop on a trip through the region aimed at containing the fallout from Israel’s war against Hamas. One of the Biden administration’s top priorities has been to deter Iran and its proxies — particularly Hezbollah, the armed group that controls areas of Lebanon along Israel’s northern border — from entering the conflict.

“The attacks, the threats coming from militia that are aligned with Iran are totally unacceptable,” Mr. Blinken said.

Although the United States has deployed two aircraft carrier battle groups to the region, Mr. Blinken emphasized that the United States was not seeking a fight. “We are not looking for conflict with Iran — we made that very clear — but we will do what’s necessary to protect our personnel, be they military or civilian.”

Officials said the Biden administration has also sent messages to Iran and Hezbollah, through regional partners including Turkey, that the United States would be prepared to intervene militarily against them if they launched attacks against Israel.

This sounds really good to me at face value but with Biden being the one that backs these warnings up with action, then I’m not sure it will hold much weight. Iran saw Biden run from Russia. Iran saw Biden run from the Taliban in Afghanistan, leaving behind both Americans and treasure. I’m sure they expect Biden to run again, especially if they threaten nuclear war.
