Republican report SLAMS FBI and DOJ on investigation into Hillary Clinton, DEMANDS special counsel

A report from Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee said that there was evidence of bias in the investigation into Hillary Clinton, and they demanded that a special counsel be appointed to investigate fully.

From CNN:

The Republican leaders of two House committees say their investigation into the FBI’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s email server and its probe of alleged coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia uncovered concerns about the “thoroughness and impartiality” of each investigation.

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy sent a six-page letter Friday summarizing the findings of their joint probe into the FBI and Justice Department, writing that further investigation was needed — including appointing a second special counsel — to examine the “disparate way these two investigations were seemingly conducted.”

BUT, they made it clear that their report was not meant to be a critique on the special counsel investigation by Robert Mueller.

Notably, the Republican lawmakers also argued that their investigation was not an attempt to undercut special counsel Robert Mueller — a charge leveled by Democrats throughout the Republican-led investigation.

“Quite the opposite, whatever product is produced by the special counsel must be trusted by Americans and that requires asking tough but fair questions about investigative techniques both employed and not employed,” Goodlatte and Gowdy wrote.

Some of it zeroes in on the Strzok texts:

The concerns outlined by Goodlatte and Gowdy, who are both retiring from Congress, reiterate many prior criticisms included in Horowitz’s report on the Clinton probe, including Comey’s handling of the decision not to prosecute Clinton and charges of political bias against Strzok and Page. They argued that Strzok wasn’t removed quickly enough after he had a senior role on the Clinton and Russia investigations and the early stages of the Mueller probe.
“It is not the discovery of bias that is so destructive to fairness, it is the existence of it,” the lawmakers wrote. “How an agent with this level of bias could have been centrally involved at each stage of three major investigations needs to be fully understood so it can be fully avoided and mitigated.”

So, will the DOJ appoint a special counsel? Somehow I doubt it. People are always making these proclamations about what the DOJ should do, and how we should investigate, but nothing happens. Now, if Trump were actually the dictator that he was constantly accused of being, don’t you think there’d be action by now?

BUT, on the other hand, Trump has literally said he has absolute evidence that the DOJ and the FBI colluded with the Hillary Clinton campaign but he’s waiting for *just* the right time to drop it. Like, really? Don’t you think the right time coulda been right before the Republicans lost the House of Representatives in the midterms? Oh well. Also, #MAGA!!!
