The context is that there was an altercation between miners in South Africa and the police sent to quell their riot in 2012. The police fired on the protesters and 34 people were killed. People on the left accuse Trevor Noah of excusing and justifying state terror on poor miners. But the renewed focus comes from the defense of the cops, which you definitely cannot do these days in any form, or you will get cancelled by the PC woke police force.
