REVEALED: FBI sent woman to SPY on Trump campaign overseas!

We’ve told you before that the Inspector General’s reporting is coming soon. Well it must be coming very soon because someone is leaking like a sieve to the New York Times, who just reported on a woman who was sent to spy on the Trump campaign overseas in 2016:

NY TIMES – The conversation at a London bar in September 2016 took a strange turn when the woman sitting across from George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser, asked a direct question: Was the Trump campaign working with Russia?

The woman had set up the meeting to discuss foreign policy issues. But she was actually a government investigator posing as a research assistant, according to people familiar with the operation. The F.B.I. sent her to London as part of the counterintelligence inquiry opened that summer to better understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia.

The American government’s affiliation with the woman, who said her name was Azra Turk, is one previously unreported detail of an operation that has become a political flash point in the face of accusations by President Trump and his allies that American law enforcement and intelligence officials spied on his campaign to undermine his electoral chances. Last year, he called it “Spygate.”

The decision to use Ms. Turk in the operation aimed at a presidential campaign official shows the level of alarm inside the F.B.I. during a frantic period when the bureau was trying to determine the scope of Russia’s attempts to disrupt the 2016 election, but could also give ammunition to Mr. Trump and his allies for their spying claims.

They are now admitting it because they know the IG is going to light the FBI up with his report!

Seems like I remember someone saying something about the Obama FBI “spying” on the Trump campaign. Oh yeah, it was AG Barr and it drove the Democrats NUTS. LOL!

Here’s some reaction from around the Twitterverse:

Congressman Mark Green says this wasn’t just spying, but an abuse of power:

That IG report is gonna be lit! Can’t wait for that to hit…

  1. Looks like Barr has another leaker to locate. Who is talking to the NYT? Hope they find out and prosecute them.

Watch out Dems and get ready to take cover because your next two years is going to be far different than the last two. AND try as you may you won’t be able to stop the indictments. You don’t scare AG Barr like you did Jeff Sessions.

    1. better question to the NYT is “How long have you been suppressing this information.” Guaranteed they have know since the beginning and have been sworn to secrecy.

  2. This probably means that some of the people named in the IG report were given a chance to respond to what it said, and are trying to get the friendliest leaks possible out there so it won’t seem so shocking when the IG report drops.

Which means that yes, the IG report is getting very close. I would guess within a month, which is consistent with predictions made from Barr and DiGenova.

      1. Very likely. The people named in the report do get a chance to respond, though, and that could delay the report a little while.

        1. Many will likely spill the beans… I would not be surprised if they’re making deals.

  3. Any findings from the investigations will likely point to the Obama Administration weaponizing US intel agencies to undermine a duly-elected POTUS.

This behavior points to a landslide GOP victory in 2020, both in the House and Senate… even moderate Dems will abhor this behavior. I wonder if the anti-Trumpers on the Right will side with Trump on this… you have Rick Wilson, David French, et al. continuing to push the Russia Hoax.

    1. They’ll be spending their time defending against the OIG report by arguing that the spying was completely justified, because TRUMP!

  4. When I.G., Michael Horowitz’s report is made public it’s the democrats that are going to get lit.

  5. Very much on topic: the fact that the NYT refers to this woman as a “government investigator” instead of an FBI agent is significant. One of the NYT reporters for the story, when asked if she was an FBI spy, said,

“I’m just going to leave it right now as a ‘government investigator.’ I use that wording for a reason, and I’m going to leave it at that.”

So she may well have been a CIA spy.

Of course, when you come right down to it, the reporter never even specified that she was a government investigator for the US government. Though if she wasn’t CIA, that would imply that the FBI sent a foreign government operative to spy on Papadopoulos, so I don’t know that it would be any better.

  6. Why were they so afraid of Trump? He was thought of as an illiterate buffoon.

This sounds like Nixon’s Watergate over-reach. Nixon appeared to be heading into a second term burglary, but he went a bridge too far when his goons broke into the DNC office in the Watergate hotel looking for “something”.

Why was Obama so afraid of Trump that he set up this ham-handed spying operation?.

    1. What we know of Obama’s illegal activities already, if researched and brought to bear, would make him concerned. There must be more. I think he is very concerned over some either really personal stuff or widespread abuse of power, or both.

There’s a long history of how many things and what sorts of things Obama wanted to keep secret.

  7. I hope ALL of the truth comes out. And of course, I (we?) want obama, Hillary, Holder – ALL those responsible or involved to face justice!!!

  8. Read the article carefully. It seems to go out of its way to avoid saying the woman worked for the FBI. It says she was sent by the FBI, but otherwise calls her a “government investigator.”

Papadopoulos might be right about her being a CIA agent. Although I don’t think the article even states clearly that it was the US government she was working for. It could very well have been Turkey, who was not happy with Papadopoulos for suggesting the US align with Greece and Cyprus instead of Turkey, upsetting a lot of people in the US foreign policy establishment.

That IG report should be verrry interesting!

  9. Papadopoulos pretty much confirms this story, but says the woman was CIA and linked to Turkish intelligence rather than the FBI.

I agree with everything in this superb article except “Azra Turk” clearly was not FBI. She was CIA and affiliated with Turkish intel. She could hardly speak English and was tasked to meet me about my work in the energy sector offshore Israel/Cyprus which Turkey was competing with

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/fbi-sent-undercover-investigator-to-meet-with-papadopoulos-in-2016-report/ar-AAAOmG1

Maybe he’s mistaken. But the article quoted doesn’t actually say she was an FBI agent, but that the FBI sent her to London. So could the FBI have sent a CIA agent to London?

Given that John Brennan at the CIA seems to have been the origin of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, it seems entirely possible the FBI might have requested — or the CIA might have suggested — sending a CIA agent.

If so, why would they want to imply she was an FBI agent?

Here’s a possible motivation: to suggest it was purely the FBI’s doing, because the CIA is not supposed to be spying on American citizens. Also, the FBI by that time had opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, so could argue the use of an informant was authorized by that investigation.

The whole point of this story may be to keep the CIA’s role in the Trump investigation from coming to light.

    1. Yes, the challenge now is to figure out why they’re leaking early. What facts are they trying to conceal or minimize when the full report comes out?

  10. Interestingly, Obama has a track record of producing not-quite-believable fake documents, doesn’t he?

  11. *** REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD! ***

For over two years, we citizens have been watching the attempted coup by those who think they are above our laws and work for some higher power.

We witnessed the phoney Steele dossier bought and paid for by the Clintons that Obama’s FBI and DOJ used as the basis for obtaining FISA court warrants to spy on the the Trump campaign based on alledged collusion with Russia.

We witnessed the collusion by the far left democrats and their misledia allies (fraudcastors) attempts to deligitimize the president with numerous psychodramas as a result of FISA warrants and illegal leaks to the misledia.

We witnessed the lying by Clapper, Brennan, Comey, the hate for Trump by FBI “agents”, the Mueller team staffed by democrat partisans and hacks.

Now they are attempting to hang obstruction charges on a crime that never happened.

They first said the president colluded with the Russians with absolutely no evidence to back up their phony claims.

Now wiitness these corrupt-O-crats going to DefCon 5 trying to delegitimize Attorney General William Barr because they are about to annihilated. They know what’s coming and they need to somehow stop it and deflect.

    They along with their misledia allies will attempt to misdirect, bamboozle and obfuscate the information being gathered by;

    1. AG William Barr
    2. IG Michael E. Horowitz
    3. Rep Devin Nunes – Criminal referrals .
    4. Senator Lindsey Graham – Criminal referrals

In the coming months, let’s watch the smirk come off the faces of the DemonCrat party and their media allies when members of the Obama administration, Clinton’s, FBI, DOJ, STATE, CIA and many more of them are charged with attempting to overthrow the government, an attempted coup.

Let us watch as all of them are thrown into prison for their attempted coup on our nation and the far left democrat party morphs into a permanent minority party.

    JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!

The far left democrats and corrup-O-crats are losing their minds knowing that their misinformation campaign to re-write reality and their cover-ups are no longer working on the electorate and that Donald J. Trump will be re-elected in 2020 and placed on Mount Rushmore, right next to Chuck Norris!

  14. This really is the Pink Panther team, with lots of egos attempting a coup of this President.None of them had any experience with this kind of operation. and only one should be allowed a plea deal Everyone else should be investigated, indicted, tried and sent to jail.If I was leading the team of investigators, the weak link would be Lisa Page, because of her love affair with one of the Leaders of this strange group of conspirators and because her and her lover with the thousands of exchanged emails left a detailed list of their crimes

    1. How many members of the Mueller investigation were working for the FBI, DOJ or FISA Court when the Obama administration/DNC were spying on the Trump campaign? Sessions recused himself because overseeing the special investigation was a conflict of interest, and the people abusing our federal agencies were brought in to join Mueller’s team, and continue where they left off. The mainstream media has the story of the century, but they’re part of same marxist organization attempting to take out a sitting U.S. President.

      1. Thanks James great response.Probably all of the FBI Agents [42] working for Muller were at least one time in their careers under the direction of the higher up who were leading the Coup. They were probably hand picked by Comey because they were loyal to him and Comey already known as a leaker, always was aware of what was going on in the Mueller Investigation.

  15. Also, puts the Barr stuff in perspective, they are scared silly. And they should be. No wonder Pelosi didn’t sleep.

    1. There is I.G., Michael Horowitz report, Special Federal Prosecutor, John Huber’s investigation and subsequent report, Barr’s investigation and last, but not least Comey’s report coming. BOOM!

  16. I can’t believe this is such a small story… if this was a Republican President doing it to a Democrat… oh man.

How can they call themselves reporters? Even Drudge is barely covering it.

  17. Again: nada will come of this, despite how many laws appear to have been broken. The Establishment protects its own, and these happy few will be offered backdoor deals to go away.

    1. I just do not believe that With our new AG,telling Lindsey Graham, yes I am looking into each issue Graham was concerned about. The AG also promised Senator Graham transparency on each issue.

      1. bigsir, I agree. I think some of these people, Barr’s one of them, realize this Republic’s over if these perps walk.

        1. Thanks Joe,and these Democrats led by Nadler did themselves no favors by getting the AG upset by threatening him with subpoenas

  18. Ya know, the senior level people who orchestrated this stuff will avoid spilling the truth as long as possible. I’m talking Comey, Clapper, McCabe, etc. Those guys are so neck deep in this that they can’t tell the truth without being nailed as the ring leaders.

The lower level folks, though. They’re going to be singing. They have nothing to protect. They were just following orders.

Get out the popcorn. This is going to be a fun few months of revelations.

Where’s that crew that kept telling us that Trump was a big fat liar for saying that his campaign was spied on?

  19. If it is true that the FBI and CIA worked together on this “project”, then it bumps it up from what the narrative Dems have recently started to write, which is that it was a couple rogue agents working within the FBI and the top knew nothing (i.e. Lerner Technique). If CIA and FBI were talking, it would require coordination and approval/authorization.

Sucks if true, but great if it leads to outing the higher ups.

  20. They are now admitting it because they know the IG is going to light the FBI up with his report!

Yep, this is how the deep state tries to soften the blows. They did this before the last IG report where they leaked items to their allies in the media so the allies could spin the damaging reports. That way when people read the real report, they’ll think they already know the wrongdoing and they’ll already have the spun version in mind.

Any information leaked to NYT or WaPo now is not only factually based, but the truth is substantially worse than what is being leaked.

22. The best tweet from Paul Sperry-

“The uncover FBI agent Strzok used to run a sting on Papadopolous shouldn’t be hard to ID. She is in her 30s and “cartoonishly voluptuous.” Who is she? Does she share Strzok’s anti-Trump bias?”

Obviously Azra Turk is not her real name.

  23. Papadopoulos pretty much confirms this story, but says the woman was CIA and linked to Turkish intelligence rather than the FBI.

  26. “Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive”….Sir Walter Scott

For you democrats let me break this down for you in laymen terms my liberal friends. It means that when you tell lies or act in a dishonest way you create problems and complications which you cannot control.

You folks are spinning out of control now and to be honest with you…I’m laughing my butt off.

  27. Halper and Azra Turk: plants
    Misfud: plant
    Erika Thompson and Downer: plants
Nellie Ohr/Steele Dossier: fertilizer, i.e. manure
Veselnitskaya and associates: plants (not predicate, but brought the “collusion” to US soil)

The entirety of the predicate resembles more the cultivation of a botanical garden rather than a legitimate “counter-intelligence” investigation. The lettered agencies (with lots of help) created the illusion of a predicate, then exploited the false predicate to pursue their own political objectives, i.e. a coup.

Spin all you like MSM, the Schiff is going to hit the fan very soon.

    Tic-Toc Tic-Toc Tic-Toc…

  29. So to recap:
Joseph Mifsud — Linked to British and/or Italian intelligence
Alexander Downer — Australian diplomat and Hillary supporter linked to British intelligence
Stefan Halper — FBI asset in London working with British intelligence
Azra Turk — FBI asset posing as assistant to Halper in London
Charles Tawil — Israeli agent who lures Papadopoulos to Israel and gives him $10K for unspecified consulting contracts, which arouses Papadopoulos’ suspicions, leading to him leaving the money with a lawyer in Greece because he suspects a setup. Of course, the moment he lands back in the US, he’s arrested. Weirdly enough, he’s listed as the cause for opening the investigation, but never interviewed until after he’s arrested and charged in July 2017, a couple months after Mueller’s appointment.

And that’s just spies sent after Papadopoulos. The spying clearly started at least months before the Crossfire Hurricane investigation was officially opened, but this particular bit of news as a couple of months after the investigation was opened.

    Ends justify the means…/S

If there isn’t some perp walks in the future…..

  32. They were absolutely certain ol’ Hills was going to win, weren’t they? 😆 😆 😆

  33. Hey NYT – WHAT did you KNOW and WHEN did you know it? Suppressing information much? So odd that now that the Mueller investigation has been deemed a witch hunt without any cause, y’all are leaking like you know something.

  34. I wonder if this is Erika Thompson, who Papadopoulos said arranged the meeting with Downer. He was under the impression she was linked to Australian intelligence, and that she was an assistant to Downer.

Of course, Papadopoulos believed Thompson was Australian intelligence rather than an FBI asset, but she could have just been lying.

    1. Never mind. This was not about the Downer meeting itself. This was the mysterious Azra Turk who claimed to be an assistant to Halper, and who kept pumping Papadopoulos for the the information given him by Joseph Mifsud, who appears to have been linked to both Italian and British intelligence, all while claiming to be linked to Russia.

The meeting with Downer took place not long after the meeting with Mifsud.

So Mifsud drops the information, Downer tries to get Papadopoulos to reveal it to him, but fails to get anything all that incriminating. Then Halper lures him to London to pump him for the same information, and Azra Turk, an FBI asset pretending to be Halper’s assistant, tries to pump him for information at a London bar.

None of it results in any incriminating leak from Papadopoulos, so they go back to Downer’s meeting instead and claim Papadopoulos said something to Downer, even though Downer disputes that he mentioned anything about Hillary’s emails.

  35. This article made me think of the discomfort that was obvious in that interview with Ben Rhodes the other day. Who, with a functioning brain cell, really believes that Obama and his White House didn’t know any of this was going on? I just hope heads roll from top to bottom. Obama’s “scandal-free” administration is more stained than Monica Lewinsky’s blue dress, and I would love to see it exposed for what it was to the point that even the sycophants cannot spin or deny it.

    1. That’s why the scale of the investigation matters. If there was only one or two agents, you could more plausibly claim Obama knew nothing about it. If the spying is widespread, it becomes impossible to believe it wasn’t authorized from the highest levels.

Though I don’t believe for a second that any spy would be gathering information on an opposing party’s political campaign without getting authorization from the top.

  36. If whoever in the Obama Administration that did this gets away with it? We’re screwed. It’ll just give the next Leftist president motivation to go even further. And they will. They always do. And now there’s more knuckleheads in this country than ever for them to prey on.

  38. This probably means that some of the people named in the IG report were given a chance to respond to what it said, and are trying to get the friendliest leaks possible out there so it won’t seem so shocking when the IG report drops.

        1. Many will likely spill the beans… I would not be surprised if they’re making deals.

  39. I expect many indictments to come out of the Horowitz and Huber investigations.

Why do you think the Democrats want to discredit AG Barr? He’s the messenger and will likely prosecute any wrongdoing.
Where’s James Comey? His home must be raided by the FBI, a-la-Manafort…

    1. @ciceroni-excogitatoris I think you’re right about the indictments. Hopefully, Comey is lawyering up. He’s going to need it.

  41. We’ve told you before that the Inspector General’s reporting is coming soon. Well it must be coming very soon because someone is leaking like a sieve to the New York Times,

Definitely a key indicator of the approach of the report. Remember all the leaking just before the last IG report came out?

    1. @hubman I’ve heard the IG report is going to be devastating. That’s why I’m personally surprised Comey is still out there writing op eds etc.

      1. It should be devastating for the collusion narrative, but mostly for exposing just how much the FBI/CIA spied on the Trump campaign.

How much the people doing the spying are affected will depend on how well they covered their tracks and how plausible their justifications are.

But this is just the beginning of the Coming Great Unraveling. There’s much more to come, as Barr does a more thorough investigation of whether ALL the spying was “adequately predicated.”

  42. The Democrats know what is about to hit them, you can sense the panic when they overreact and attempt to discredit Barr.

Whining about “obstruction” while the real crime is going to be exposed.

This is why I’m glad Trump won, or we would never know this.

  43. Yesterday’s dog and pony show was set up for one purpose only – Democrats need to discredit any and all future reports and investigations coming out of the Barr AG office.

MSNBC crowing Kamala Harris “drew blood” shows they remain in total cahoots with the Dem party and Obama’s string of abuse crimes.

What is the payoff for MSNBC to miss the biggest story of the century – Obama’s White House was using all the instruments of state power against a private citizen, who just happened to be running as the GOP candidate.

    1. If you listened to the questions Ted Cruz asked he wants Barr to look into what other campaigns Obama was spying on. This makes sense because the spying started in Jan. 2016 and there was no way they knew who would win the nomination. When they get to the bottom of it all I think it’s going to be much bigger than anyone previously thought.

      1. Sjmom, my thoughts exactly. I’m thinking we might find out a whole bunch more were “surveilled” than just Trump.

  45. I hope ALL of the truth comes out. And of course, I (we?) want obama, Hillary, Holder – ALL those responsible or involved to face justice!!!

BOOM!

  47. I can’t believe this is such a small story… if this was a Republican President doing it to a Democrat… oh man.

How can they call themselves reporters? Even Drudge is barely covering it.

  53. UPDATE:
George Papadapolous weighs in on “Azra Turk” on Twitter

“I agree with everything in this superb article except “Azra Turk” clearly was not FBI. She was CIA and affiliated with Turkish intel. She could hardly speak English and was tasked to meet me about my work in the energy sector offshore Israel/Cyprus which Turkey was competing with”

  57. Orange man bad…
    Ends justify the means…/S

If there isn’t some perp walks in the future…..

  58. Hey NYT – WHAT did you KNOW and WHEN did you know it? Suppressing information much? So odd that now that the Mueller investigation has been deemed a witch hunt without any cause, y’all are leaking like you know something.

  61. If whoever in the Obama Administration that did this gets away with it? We’re screwed. It’ll just give the next Leftist president motivation to go even further. And they will. They always do. And now there’s more knuckleheads in this country than ever for them to prey on.

  64. The Democrats know what is about to hit them, you can sense the panic when they overreact and attempt to discredit Barr.

Whining about “obstruction” while the real crime is going to be exposed.

This is why I’m glad Trump won, or we would never know this.
