Yesterday the Chief Patrol Agent in charge of the Rio Grande Valley sector took to Twitter to alert everyone that illegal border crossings has just skyrocketed again in the hottest part of the year:
“It’s the hottest part of the summer and apprehensions are skyrocketing! Apprehensions surpassed the 1-million milestone in June. NOW – this week alone – RGV has apprehended more than 20K illegally present migrants.”

Fox News’ Bill Melugin puts this in perspective, saying “Wow. 20,000 apprehensions in one week down in the Rio Grande Valley sector. That’s the capacity of STAPLES Center. This is not seasonal migration, it is not slowing down in the heat, and there is no “extreme progress” being made, as the administration has claimed.”

And you have to know that most of these illegals are being released into the US because where in the heck do you house 20,000 people?
Melugin, who has been doing terrific reporting at the border, explains some of who he’s seen coming to the border:
NEW: An absolutely massive group of 350+ migrants have arrived at the border fence here in Del Rio. They are from all around the world. Haiti. Africa. Brazil. Colombia. Very few from Northern Triangle. More are streaming down the path from the Rio Grande after crossing. @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/Cd4eHr7zCe

This couple is from Ghana. They speak English. She is a baker, he is an electrician. They left Ghana in January. Flew into Brazil. Went through Bolivia, eventually got to Mexico, then made their way here to the border. They’re planning to go to Hartford, CT. @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/7j52DIiVL9

Another journalist here asked this migrant what she thinks about President Biden. She responded “Gracias al Presidente Biden por la oportunidad de venir aqui ahora.”
(Thanks to President Biden for the opportunity to come here now.)

Note the last one actually thanks Biden for the ‘opportunity’ to come to America. Talk about ‘extreme progress’ in the wrong direction.
