Unless the Obama Administration is capable of performing a Jedi mind trick on Iran, I see these sanctions going absolutely nowhere. I think they are trying to perform the Jedi mind trick on us, constantly telling us that diplomacy is still an option with Iran. Really? If that were the case, don’t you think we’d be there by now? N. Korea never waits too long before demanding that we bribe them to keep them quiet. Iran, on the other hand, continually lies about its nuclear program and apparently no one in the administration can decipher their actual intentions. But this is emblematic of the problem with the administration. They refuse to call a spade a spade. It’s the very reason why we’ve had to rely on the sheer incompetence of terrorists lately instead of stopping them before they try and kill us. We suck at identifying the actual problem.
Take Israel and Hamas for example. Obama refuses to call out Hamas, the elected government of Gaza. Instead they want to isolate the few extremists from the population. Hmm. Gee, I wonder if they’ve considered the idea that the extremists are actually running the place, and were elected to do so by the Palestinians. They’re all extremists! You’d think they would acknowledge that little piece of data when considering peace in the middle east. But no. Instead they are trying to paint the barn with a tooth brush and tooth paste. By the way, check out Power Line’s great writeup on Obama’s announcement today with Mahmoud Abbas on Israel and Gaza.
So when it comes to Iran, I think the rule is if you bang your head on the wall and it hurts the first time, keep telling yourself that if you continue it will eventually feel good. And then the wall gets nuclear weapons and blows your freakin’ head off.
Geez:
