Roger Goodell is encouraging NFL teams to sign Colin Kaepernick

The new woke version of Roger Goodell is now encouraging a team to sign Colin Kaepernick, saying he both supports and welcomes it:

NY POST – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he would support and encourage a team willing to sign quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who settled a collusion lawsuit against the league over claims teams were working together to keep him away because of his kneeling during the national anthem in 2016.

“Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it’s going to take a team to make that decision,” Goodell said Monday during ESPN’s “The Return of Sports” special, airing from 9-11 p.m. “But I welcome that, support a club making that decision, and encourage them to do that.”

It’s part of a continued about-face by the NFL in the last few weeks, as Goodell admitted a mistake in not listening to his players sooner on concerns of racial and social injustice in America. Kneeling protests often were misrepresented as anti-flag, with President Donald Trump banging the drum loudest.

If anyone gets Kaepernick, I hope it’s Sooper’s favorite team, the Buffalo Bills.

Seriously though, I doubt any team in their right mind will sign Kaepernick for all the same reasons he’s not been signed in years. He’s far too divisive and nobody wants that kind of baggage while trying to win games.

So where might we see Kaepernick next? If no team signs him, and given the direction woke Goodell is going these days, it wouldn’t surprise me if he were invited on the field during the Superbowl national anthem to kneel for George Floyd. That just seems to fit with where everything is headed these days.
