There are reports that Bannon would refer to Trump’s son-in-law as “the Democrat” and globalist, and even called him a “cuckservative.” But it’s clear by the alt-right freaking out that Trump is ditching a lot of the populist rhetoric and promises he made for the sake of pure “winning.” And that’s losing him a LOT of supporters.
There are two things at work here – you can only ignore reality and promise everything to everyone for so long. And, very frankly, populism isn’t actually popular. When it comes to actually implementing those policies, he’s finding a lot of resistance. Because it’s much easier to promise the world, than it is to produce it….
