Fox News is reporting that Rudy Giuliani told John Roberts that he is definitely going to defy the House subpoena and is even parting ways with his Watergate attorney:
President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Fox News he will not comply with a congressional subpoena to turn over all documents related to the phone call between Trump and Ukraine central to impeachment hearings against the president, as the deadline for cooperating expires Tuesday.
Giuliani also said that he is parting ways with former Watergate prosecutor Jon Sale, the attorney he retained to represent him in matters relating to impeachment, telling Fox News that unless Congress tries to enforce the subpoena, he will not be needing an attorney.
The three House committees conducting depositions this week to move the impeachment inquiry forward — which include the Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight and Reform committees — allege that Giuliani “pressed the Ukrainian government to pursue two politically motivated investigations” against the former vice president and 2020 hopeful Joe Biden and his son Hunter in exchange for foreign aid.
It sounds to me as if Giuliani is daring the House to try and enforce the subpoena using the courts. I’m guessing if that happens he will try to make a case that this impeachment inquiry is nothing but a kangaroo court.
Along those lines, Trump tweeted this earlier today:
Democrats are allowing no transparency at the Witch Hunt hearings. If Republicans ever did this they would be excoriated by the Fake News. Let the facts come out from the charade of people, most of whom I do not know, they are interviewing for 9 hours each, not selective leaks.

And you know he’s not wrong. If the shoe were on the other foot the media would be decrying this as a kangaroo court 24/7 and turning the entire country against the process, and rightly so.
