The shooter at Saugus High School used a handgun to kill 2 students and wound 4 others, including himself:
Video from the scene of the #SaugusHighSchool shooting "clearly shows" the shooter withdraw a handgun from his backpack, shoot and wound five people and then shoot himself in the head, authorities say. https://t.co/DCatVyOpBN

We do know it was a .45 caliber handgun but don’t know how many rounds were shot. But Police note that all the rounds in the handgun were expended.
It’s illegal in California to have more than 10 rounds in a magazine, so I would assume at least 10 shots were fired, including the one the shooter used on himself. But he could have used more than one magazine.
Regardless, it was clearly illegal for the 16-year-old suspect to have the weapon on campus, which goes to show that even in one of the strictest states on gun control, it just doesn’t work.
Here’s a few tweets of interest from Dana Loesch…
The suspect in Santa Clarita used a .45 caliber pistol; reminder that fed law restricts under 21 from carry or purchase of handguns; CA law no different.

Suspect was in illegal possession. While you were AG CA ranked among lowest in prosecutions of fed gun crimes. Your state passed UCB, AWB, mag restrictions, waiting period, red flag, registry, microstamping, age restrictions, more. What did CA lack that would have prevented this? https://t.co/Fq6JeusaPM

CA has UCB, AWB, mag restrictions, waiting period, red flag, registry, microstamping, is may not shall issue, age restriction, and more. What could @senatemajldr or @realDonaldTrump pass that would have impacted this? Why speculate when facts aren’t known? https://t.co/V2e9CjVYYE
