Last night Sarah Sanders sat down for a contentious but friendly 20 minute interview on CNN with Chris Cuomo and they discussed, among other things, her credibility and the deficit.

In a nutshell, Cuomo tried to get Sanders to answer why she said that Trump didn’t dictate the letter to Don Jr when it wasn’t true.
Of course she refused to give him a direct answer, repeating what she’s already said multiple times this week. But she also, in turn, took shots at CNN for covering a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter.
She mentioned several times how CNN refused to cover a ceremony yesterday where Trump signed legislation to give veterans more private health care choices. Cuomo said CNN has to make ‘choices’ and tried to make clear that the network wasn’t anti-veteran, as he felt Sanders might be implying.
She also hit CNN for injecting too much opinion into news stories.
And it went on like that for a while. But like I said it was a fairly friendly interview, as Cuomo asked reasonable questions and Sanders did what press secretaries do: spin. Which was very evident when she was answering questions about the debt, arguing that Trump is dedicated to reducing the debt. C’mon, we’ve seen no evidence of that yet.
All in all, it’s definitely an interview worth watching.
