This is a great example of pointless but tough-sounding rhetoric from the Trump administration – it’s interesting that Scaramucci either picked up the strategy quickly, or already had it in his repertoire.
Watch what he says about firing leakers, after explaining his pun:
Uh… OK. Wow that sounds so tough!! That’s it! No MORE LEAKING!!
Except one thing – where they NOT firing leakers before?
Duh. The problem isn’t the policy of firing or not firing leakers. They can’t FIND the leakers to fire them – that’s the problem!! This completely incompetent administration promised to “drain the swamp” and they can’t even rid their own administration of leakers.
And there’s absolutely no reason to think Scaramucci will do any better at rooting them out.
Did leakers NOT think they’d get fired if they were caught before? The NSA leaker WAS ARRESTED AND CRIMINALLY CHARGED.
They weren’t leaking because of lack of threat of punishment. But that’s what Trump’s base wants to hear – pointless, impotent bluster. And Scaramucci is just the guy to deliver it…
