The Seattle Mayor attacked Trump yesterday for not understanding what’s going on in Seattle, claims it’s patriotism:
It's clear @realDonaldTrump doesn’t understand what’s happening on five square blocks of our City. Cal Anderson and Capitol Hill has for decades been a place for free speech, community, and self expression.

Lawfully gathering and expressing first amendment rights, demanding we do better as a society and provide true equity for communities of color is not terrorism – it is patriotism.

The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone #CHAZ is not a lawless wasteland of anarchist insurrection – it is a peaceful expression of our community's collective grief and their desire to build a better world. Given his track record, it's not hard to believe that Trump is wrong, yet again.

Sure, CHAZ is so peaceful and patriotic that it has armed guards:
CNN: “There are no armed militants in CHAZ.” pic.twitter.com/T1jZmC6HCn

There are even reports that the group that Project Veritas just exposed, the Antifa John Brown Gun Club, is helping guard the barricades around CHAZ:
“Barricades were being manned by—among others—members of the Puget Sound John Brown Gun Club, an armed Antifa group, one of whose members was killed last year in Tacoma after assaulting an ICE facility armed with a rifle and Molotov cocktails.” #CHAZ https://t.co/pAAOKpzwOV

Seattle’s own police chief describes just how peaceful and patriotic CHAZ is:
Seattle Mayor: CHAZ is a “peaceful expression of our community's collective grief and their desire to build a better world.”
Seattle Police Chief: "Rapes, robberies and all sorts of violent acts have been occurring in the area”

Last night in a CNN report, one of these peaceful protesters tried to stop a CNN report from happening:
Incredible CNN segment. Reporter says how peaceful it is in CHAZ. One of the protesters crashes the shot and tries to organize people to interrupt the report. Reporter then says “no doubt some of these protesters are armed” (contradicting CNN's report): https://t.co/FBiJaGifZR pic.twitter.com/AnQBI0QOm8

Ed Morrissey notes that you can’t even record people in CHAZ:
Irony: The reason why we know about how Floyd died is because we live in a free country where everyone can whip out their cell phone and document the actions of police. The only place in the country where that’s not possible any longer is in CHAZ with its autonomous "policing." https://t.co/BpVXu5TpRU

Yes it’s so peaceful and patriotic that the police department had to evacuate! Sure sounds like what the founders intended to me!
