Texas GOP Chairman Allen West, and by extension the state party, released an official statement that not only forcefully rejected the Supreme Court’s rejection of the state’s lawsuit, but took it one step further.
“The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressman, have decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law,” reads the statement from West. “Resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences.”
It’s issued on GOP letterhead. This is “it’s getting REAL” stuff here.
“This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic,” he continued.
Then he landed the devastating blow in his closing sentence:
“Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution.”

Wow. That is a STRONG reply. A lot of people are using the S-word. “Secede” I mean. Well probably the other one too, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about.
