Sen Collins is VERY skeptical over Democrats handling of sexual assault allegations

Sen. Susan Collins is criticizing the way in which Democrats have handled these phony allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh and honestly, seems quite skeptical about them:

TOWNHALL – Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) told The New York Times Sunday that the way Democrats have handled Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh was “not fair” to Kavanaugh or Ford.

“What is puzzling to me is the Democrats, by not bringing this out earlier, after having had this information for more than six weeks, have managed to cast a cloud of doubt on both the professor and the judge,” Sen. Collins commented.

“If they believed Professor Ford, why didn’t they surface this information earlier so that he could be questioned about it?” she wondered. “And if they didn’t believe her and chose to withhold the information, why did they decide at the 11th hour to release it? It is really not fair to either of them the way it is was handled.”

Sen. Collins told CNN Sunday that she discussed the allegations with Kavanaugh last Friday and he denied them. She said she would discuss the committee proceeding to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination with her colleagues.

Collins is asking the same logical questions anyone else with a brain is asking, and rightly so.

The reason this is a big deal is that Sen. Collins is one of the few Senators that Democrats want to influence to vote against Kavanaugh. But even she appears to be seeing through their shenanigans.

As I mentioned in the comments in an earlier post, these allegations haven’t come out until now because Democrats knew how absurd they were and thought they could get something on Kavanaugh during his hearings, and thus not use them. But they failed to move the needle against Kavanaugh so now they are left with this last minute lie to try and keep him off the courts.

And I’m glad, at the very least, that Collins is criticizing the Democrats for this. It doesn’t mean she won’t take the allegations seriously if there is evidence, but it does mean she realizes this may be a ruse by Democrats.
