Senate Intel Chief RIPS John Brennan over his comments today on Trump colluding with Russia

Senator Richard Burr, who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, responded today to an opinion piece by John Brennan in the NY Times which said “Mr. Trump’s claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash.” That was basically the title of the piece as well.

Burr responded this way:

“Director Brennan’s recent statements purport to know as fact that the Trump campaign colluded with a foreign power. If Director Brennan’s statement is based on intelligence he received while still leading the CIA, why didn’t he include it in the Intelligence Community Assessment released in 2017? If his statement is based on intelligence he has seen since leaving office, it constitutes an intelligence breach. If he has some other personal knowledge of or evidence of collusion, it should be disclosed to the Special Counsel, not The New York Times.

“If, however, Director Brennan’s statement is purely political and based on conjecture, the president has full authority to revoke his security clearance as head of the Executive Branch.”

Exactly.

Brennan is lying, just like he’s done in the past. If he had proof of collusion he would have demonstrated it a long time ago. But he doesn’t. He’s just full of hotair (I’m being nice as I just go out of Mass) and is making a political statement, lashing out at Trump over revoking his security clearance.

I’m glad Trump jerked his security clearance away. It needed to happen as soon as he left office.
