The much anticipated Cornyn border security amendment was defeated a few minutes ago:
Senate votes 54-43 to kill Cornyn border security amendment.

This was predictable. While we don’t know everyone who voted for or against, Byron York does give us the votes of the GOP Gang-of-8:
Senate voting on Democratic motion to table Cornyn amendment. Dems solid against triggers, will kill amendment. How will GOP Gang8 vote?

Let’s see how they voted:
McCain votes with Dems to kill Cornyn border security amendment.

GOP Sen. Graham, Gang8 member, votes with Dems to kill Cornyn border security amendment.

Rubio breaks with Gang8, votes against move to kill Cornyn border security amendment.

So McCain, Graham, and Flake all voted to kill the amendment. Ugh.
Rubio voted for the border security amendment, as he suggested he would last night. At this point I’m quite sure he won’t vote for cloture on this Senate bill. If he does, he’s toast.
I will post a full accounting of the votes for this amendment as soon as it becomes available.
UPDATE: Looks like Rand Paul also voted with McCain, Graham, and Flake. Below is the full roll call vote:
