The other day I heard the cute new socialist who took out Joe Crowley on tv spouting nonsense about how ICE is holding black sites on the border so they can violate the human rights of all these illegal immigrant children. She wanted to get rid of ICE completely.
Well now Kirsten Gillibrand, who refused to support Ocasio-Cortez in the election, is not only praising her but adopting her ideas of getting rid of ICE!
Here’s what she said last night (skip ahead to 2:15):

She’s saying that ICE has become a deportation force and it needs to go away…and be replaced with something else.

The issues Gillibrand and other progressives have with ICE are the result of the agency enforcing immigration laws — lately, for the first time in years. If that results in complications and bad outcomes, dismantling the agency and replacing it with another won’t work, because the successor agency will also have to enforce the same laws
Exactly. This is why Senator Feinstein put in her immigration bill that there should be no arrests within a hundred miles of that border. They don’t want actual enforcement of the law at the border. What they want is to go back to the dangerous Obama policy of ‘catch and release’.
Look nobody likes separating these migrant families simply to enforce the law, but it’s not Trump’s fault. It’s the court’s fault for forcing this upon the Trump administration (and previous administrations). And now they are being forced multiple ways by the courts….and I have no idea what’s happening.
But hey, let’s just get rid of ICE and hope all goes well. Before you know it we’ll be a socialist paradise…
