Over thirty tornadoes touched down late on Friday night and into Saturday morning in a swath of destruction spanning six states and leaving buildings, towns, and families devastated in their wake.
The utter destruction in some places, like Mayfield, Kentucky, is almost beyond description. The death toll this morning was listed at fifty but it’s not necessarily final.
On social media people have shared photos and videos, some of the terrifying moments last night, some of incredible and terrible aftermath.

Several dozen emergency crews at the Amazon Warehouse on Gateway Commerce Center Drive.
About a third of the warehouse is torn down and damaged from either straight by line winds or tornado.

This is scary and terrible. Believe me, in Texas we know about the destruction and heartbreak of tornados.
Today please say a prayer for all of these people, and I encourage you all, if you can, to seek out ways you can help. Whether donations of food, money, time, or blood, there is a need. And for this to happen just before Christmas, well you can imagine the children who are hurting right now.
May the Lord bless and care for each of them.
