Slate DUMPS on Sully H.W. Bush and social media EXPLODES in disbelief

I’m sure most of you have heard of Sully H.W. Bush by now. He’s the beloved service dog who aided George Bush Sr. in the last months of his life and is pictured lying at his casket in the picture below. It’s actually quite moving.

Well some moron at Slate decided that Sully was getting too much attention and decided that it would be smart to write a piece telling people “Don’t Spend Your Emotional Energy on Sully H.W. Bush”. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?

Why attack such a precious relationship between a man who had just passed and his service dog? Who cares if it was six months or six years? They were close companions and Sully aided him to the end – and even thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

Social media didn’t like it either and has exploded in response to such a classless article:
