So despite everyone mocking Jussie Smollett for a whole day about the revelation that he paid for his race hoax with a check, it looks like that is not true, or at least there’s evidence against it.
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 The texts between Jussie Smollett and the Nigerian-American brothers prove that the $3500 was for fitness training and not to orchestrate the alleged attack. This calls the claims by the Superintendent of Chicago PD into question. Story developing.

From the Complex:
Jussie Smollett’s case has now taken another twist. The Chicago police superintendent claimed that Jussie paid a $3,500 check to his alleged accomplices Abel and Ola Osundairo to stage the attack. Now, there’s evidence that the check was simply payment to help the Empire actor get in shape.
The memo line reads “5 week Nutrition/Workout program Don’t Go,” according to documents obtained by TMZ. The check was written to Abel Osundairo on Jan. 23, six days before the attack. Sources say that there are several text messages between Smollett and Abel to prepare the entertainer for the video to his song “Don’t Go.”
This is also not the first time Smollett has tapped Abel for training sessions. The documents include screenshots of Osundairo and Smollett’s Venmo interactions detailing at least one time where Jussie paid Abel $100 for a session in September 2018.
OK, I mean even if you want to say that the check was *actually* for the hoax and he was trying to misled with the memo, we have to go by actual evidence, and this weakens the police’s case.
Then again, there’s SO MUCH evidence against him that he better have some damn good explanation for all of it. Which I doubt very much.
On the other hand…
