Last night on Saturday Night Live, Kenan Thompson’s Al Sharpton take was hilarious as usual, featuring the foibles and verbal oddities we’ve come to know and love from both the fake and the real Reverend Al.
“This law is working. President Obama said it. The White House report says it. And the official White House spokesman said it. That’s three different people. How much more evidence do we need?”
In satura veritas? Even on an extremely liberal comedy show, the softballs thrown by news disastrophy MSNBC aren’t fooling anyone.
Thompson’s Sharpton asks “unpaid Huffington Post blogger” Peter Douchet about the fixeded website. The fictional blogger replies that “Republicans were quick to call this a fiasco, but it’s really not that bad,” and “there’s so much noise out there, that you don’t hear all the stories about the people who are finally getting health care.” Too much complaining is why people think things don’t work? Where have we heard that excuse before? Are we sure Peter is fictional??
