Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update featured a token effort to joke about the still-roiling Duck Dynasty controversy:
You can judge a book by it’s cover, says Seth Myer, speaking for every Hollywood liberal elite that ever deigned to lay judgement on residents of fly-over country. Not that I’m sure it matters to the Robertson family. After all, we say grace, and we say ma’am, and if you ain’t into that, we don’t give a damn.
The overall lack of content regarding the overblown controversy is likely attributable to how late in the week story broke, rather than reservation on the part of the SNL writers to crack wise about the Duck Dynasty stars.
