Stephen Colbert interviewed Joe Biden last night and actually asked him about his son Hunter, but not in the way that most of us would have hoped. Instead it was all about how Republicans might try and use his son against him:
I know @StephenAtHome is an entertainer and not a journalist but this is still embarrassing. Rather than trying to break news about the FBI’s investigation into Hunter (which Biden himself is implicated in), Colbert asks him to go after Republicans making this an issue. pic.twitter.com/HjCEPOdap2

It continues with Colbert pressing Biden on whether he could actually work with Republicans who attack his son:
It got worse. Colbert follows up asking how he can work w/ Republicans if they’re making Hunter an issue.
Biden, in a rambling response, says if he were in high school he’d want to “go a round”

This is the big interview CBS News was pushing yesterday and it’s garbage. The media has only recently started reporting on Hunter’s misdeeds and his Chinese business dealings, including the fact that he’s the subject of an FBI investigation for money laundering, but Colbert can’t be bothered to actually ask Joe about that. Rather, he treats the whole Hunter Biden scandal as if it’s fiction, only asking Joe about how those mean Republicans might use it against him. I thought Colbert used to care about potential foreign interference? Oh right, only when it was a phony claim about Trump.
I bet he also didn’t ask Dr. Jill about her embarrassing dissertation. The next four years are going to be grueling…
