A reporter completely mischaracterized comments made today by FEMA Director Criswell, claiming she had concerns about Florida’s lax response to Hurricane Ian.
I’m not sure that DeSantis knew her comments were being mischaracterized at that moment, but he was quick to rebuke the reporter because it was just wrong.
DeSantis told the reporter to “stop politicizing”, saying that he understands the reporter wants to attack him but said he was also attacking a lot of other people who’ve worked very hard in Florida’s response.
Watch:
The media can't help themselves – everything must be politicized. No opportunity to smear opponents is too low. This reporter misrepresented FEMA Director's words@RonDeSantisFL won't accept it. He'll always stand up for Florida & our world class emergency response professionals pic.twitter.com/Uemzm5vcPH

Team DeSantis on Twitter posted a video of the comments by Director Criswell today, and you’ll quickly see that she wasn’t talking about Florida’s response to the Hurricane at all.
Rather she was saying she was concerned that people living in critical areas wouldn’t heed the warnings and evacuate because some of these areas aren’t used to dealing with hurricanes.
For context, here is the exchange between reporters and FEMA Administrator Criswell at the White House today. pic.twitter.com/qi1CSmsEtr

As we pointed out earlier, the garbage media is already gearing up to smear DeSantis over anything they can find regarding his hurricane reponse, even if they have to make it up out of whole cloth apparently.
