Ted Cruz PUMMELS New York Times writer who attacked him for quoting Frederick Douglass

Ted Cruz was attacked today by a New York Times editorial board member for quoting Frederick Douglass in his response to Kaepernick:

Good grief, liberals are just so angry.

This is absurd for a number of reasons, but primarily because Frederick Douglass was a Republican, just like Cruz!

Also Cruz was really quite diplomatic with Kaepernick, adding only essential context so people would know Kaepernick was taking the quote way out of context. He wasn’t trying to score easy points with a rhetorical slam of some kind. He actually added to the conversation in a meaningful way.

Ted Cruz responded Gay a few minutes ago, exposing her liberal hackery:

I’m sure the New York Times must be proud.

  1. Every time I see see Cruz’s face my mouth starts screaming he should be president!!!! WTF! He knocks off these liberals with wit, character, knowledge, intelligence and that sexy beard. 🙂 n

    1. Every time you say that, you discredit the work the President has done. That’s the crying shame. Donald Trump is not perfect, guess what…neither is Ted Cruz.

I voted for Ted in the primary. BUT, I have stood with President Trump since he became the nominee and being elected. Sometimes you have to RISE ABOVE THE CIRCUMSTANCES and do what is right. And, standing with President Trump, flaws and all is what is RIGHT for AMERICA. Get over it, unless you want one of those loonies from the left as your President in 2020.

      1. Well put Joy. Senator Ted Cruz is doing just fine in the Senate . I also voted for him but I’m proud of the hard work Pres. Trump has accomplished.

  2. Congratulations, Scoop! You’re directly linked off of The Tednado’s Facebook page!!! Woohoo! 🙂

  4. Once had a bird and used a page of the New York Times to line it’s cage. The bird went bonkers and began to pick at it and threw pieces of it out of it’s cage until the entire page was gone.

  6. I accidentally was looking through the NYT Opinion Twitter feed the other day. It’s disgusting. These are some America-hating TDS-afflicted whiny-azz jerks. Just in case you needed your blood boiled:
    https://twitter.com/nytopinion

    1. You were doing it on purpose. What, you “accidentally” ended up there? And then “accidentally” decided to scroll through it? And then “accidentally” read and digested the things there?

      Please.

Looking for something to snowflake out about, is more like it.

      1. It was a turn of phrase to express that I don’t follow NYT Opinion’s twitter feed, but just “happened upon it” because someone else I do follow referenced a sick opinion piece there. Is “happened upon it” better for you?

        1. @trytothink What happened? I was expecting to have to scroll through a long, drawn out argument.

          1. She must have had an off day. If only she could have kept finding something to attack – but I’m not really into going back and forth with some off-the-cuff wording that I threw out.

            1. Yeah, she’ll be back. She replied to a comment of mine and I erased it without seeing what it pertained to. It’s rather humorous, it appears that she goes back over day-old threads to see who was talking about her.

        2. Yes, that’s much more accurate.

Before it was like you were apologizing for reading the NYT OpEd Feed. That you felt compelled to do such a thing in the first place… :/

      1. When people defend the NYT, even when the lie and say, “But the journalism side is separate from the opinion side.” … point them at that twitter feed.

  7. Again, Blacks like her are taught by White, liberal, Democrats to think what they want them to think, just like they did, when could buy, sell and trade Blacks, like baseball cards, so maybe she doesn’t know much about Frederick Douglass:

“Each colored voter of the state should say in scripture phrase, ‘may my hand forget its cunning and my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth’ if ever I raise my voice or give my vote to the nominee of the Democratic Party.”

I’ll bet she considers herself someone that respects Malcolm X, too, but doesn’t like listening to him, when he says:

“‘Any time you throw your weight behind a political party [Democrats] that controls two … with that party, you’re not only a chump but you’re a traitor to your race.”

And she certainly isn’t smart enough to know about Malcolm X saying:

“only a fool would let his enemy educated his children.”

Make no mistake: these Democrat teachers are her enemy, and always have been. The very political party that she votes for wouldn’t even let her Black self in their party, before Arthur W. Mitchell, in 1935. Blacks are too stupid to realize how stupid a move that was. Why would you want to join a political party that fought allowing people like you to live, since 1828? A party that was founded to tell the world that you’re beneath the White man? A party that enslaved you? A party that beat you? A party that segregated you? A party that lynched you? And a party that still thinks you’re trash, to this very day? Those people aren’t her friends, and she’s too stupid to realize this.

“But being friendly and being a friend I think are two different things. There are many Whites who act friendly toward Negroes, a fox acts friendly towards the lamb, and usually the fox is the one that ends up with the lamb chop on its plate. The wolf doesn’t act friendly, therefore the wolf has more difficult getting the lamb chop on its plate. I say that because if you study the structure of the negro community, economically, politically, civically, psychologically and otherwise it’s controlled by the White liberal who poses as a friend of the negro who actually differs from the white conservative in the same way the fox differs from the wolf. Their appetite is the same, their motives are the same it;s only their mannerisms and methods that differ. Now whenever it takes a stoppage of something that’s going to affect the white man, you find the white liberal absent, but when it involves something that will primarily affect the best interest of black people and black people only, then that white liberal is present. Herbert Hill is the labor secretary for the NAACP, and if he was interested in Black people, he would prepare a Black man with the type of knowledge and understanding of the labor troubles involving Black people, that would enable a Black man to sit in the same position of labor secretary in the NAACP. I’m suspicious of Whites who join Negroes and always have to be in the lead, always have to the head, who always have to be at the top, In Negro Organizations! Those Whites who really have the interests of Blacks at heart let ’em give advice to some Negroes, and stand on the sidelines, but don’t join the organization, then get at the head of it and pose as a friend of Negroes.”

I’m not saying Republicans are much better, but they’re certainly not the congenital racists that the Democrats are. Plenty of Democrats hate Rafael Cruz, and I can guarantee you that one of the reasons is that he’s a Latino in the Republican Party, and a very prominent member, at that. Those same people that hate him, for what he is, don’t think much of more of Negros, like Mara Gay, because of what she is. The only difference is that she’s still obedient to her masters in the Democratic Party, and willing to be their token, when they put an ad in their paper for one.

    1. Dammit, well done, except for a sentence or two. Love those quotes too. You get

  8. Every time I see see Cruz’s face my mouth starts screaming he should be president!!!! WTF! He knocks off these liberals with wit, character, knowledge, intelligence and that sexy beard. 🙂 n

        1. Good morning Nana from Shaking California. I prefer Senator Ted Cruz and President Donald J Trump, for such a time as this. If libs and dems and snowflakes and kooks would stop reading the crap the MSM publishes and start listening to the President, better yet, read the transcripts of his speeches, they just might see how well he is doing as President. In this era of great HOSTILITY toward the President, he has done a damn good job Making America Great Again.

  9. It’s sad that most Americans don’t know what Ted does behind the scenes. This man is fighting for liberty one liberal at a time and who gets to see it?

Picks for President. Cruz, Abbott and Crenshaw. Go Texas!

    1. Obviously I like Cruz but I really hope Abbott runs for president in the future. The guy has stones.

  10. The hiring standards of the New York Times are such that idiots have a home there so long as they embrace and espouse their leftist dogma. I know nothing of Mara Gay beyond what is available about her on this page but I now know enough to say, with authority, that she is unqualified to comment, publicly, on virtually anything beyond the current time and temperature because she cannot be bothered to learn facts that are more than a few seconds old.

  11. And speaking of “social justice,” you should read this piece by Ace today…

The Silence of “The Right:” Why Do We Have to Turn to Leftwingers Like Tim Pool and Brett Weinstein to Hear Challenges to Leftist Mob-Rule that Paid Members of the “Conservative” Media Should Be Offering Themselves?

Listening to that interview, I was referred to this great Brett Weinstein speech from 2018, about what Social Justice Warrior terror is all about. It’s even better, I think, than the Ngo interview. He breaks down what antifa/the SJW movement is, and its various pieces — from the dupes who think they’re just joining a “pro-equality” movement, to the people running it, who, he notes, are not looking for equality, but actual black (or gay, or trans) supremacy, simply reversing Old Jim Crow into a New Jim Crow, to the “allies,” who are really subordinates who agree to act as Second-Class Citizens to make up for past injustices, to the grifters, to the opportunists who think they can profit politically or economically from aligning themselves with the blackshirts, to the cowed and frightened masses who offer some public support of them just so they won’t be targeted next, etc.

  12. This comes from the idiotic idea of “cultural appropriation” that gets pushed on the campuses of the universities & colleges. I just might have to rank it as an even more stupid concept than “social justice.”

Ultimately, “cultural appropriation” is an attempt to deny a Mexican family the right to sell tacos to gringos. The left wants to keep all their victim groups poor, uneducated, and on the plantation.

    1. They don’t really want to play the ‘cultural appropriation’ game, unless it’s one-sided, because taking away all of ‘white America’s’ contributions to mankind would set minorities back 200+ years.

      1. Yep. No more annoying, white airplanes, cars, trucks, air conditioning, eyeglasses, or electric motors.

  13. Mara Gay? Never heard of her. And what is this “New York Times” of which you speak?

      1. At first, I thought she was the one who shot Marvin. But then I remember it was his old man.

  14. I bet if Mara Gay knew Fredrick Douglas wrote this, she would probably hate him too:

…the Constitution of the United States not only contained no guarantees in favor of slavery, but, on the contrary, was in its letter and spirit an anti-slavery instrument, demanding the abolition of slavery as a condition of its own existence as the supreme law of the land…

  15. So-called editor tried to brush him aside, all that was missing was the sassy finger wave. mm mm mm mm mm Instead of responding with a finger of his own (the middle one), he destroys her with class.

  16. It’s the gross ignorance, stupidity and uncivil behavior exhibited by the likes of Ms. Gay that is driving people away from the Left. They have no rationale, logic or calm persuasive reason to persuade people to their side. All they’ve got is bat-poop craziness and juvenile snarkiness and who wants to be a part of that???!!!!

      1. Exactly! My rule has always been if you know someone’s head is going to explode you get as far away from ground zero as possible! Now the Left’s whole head is exploding and everyone (even their own) is trying to get out of the line of fire!

          1. I’m certainly hoping and praying for at least that. It would definitely be gratifying, lol! Of course, the fleshly part of me wants to buy popcorn to munch on while watching the hysterical meltdowns on the more rabid sides of the Left, hahaha!

            1. Leftists Meltdown 2016 was awesome. You wonder if they will be on guard in 2020 or will not be able to control their over the top emotional selves?

  17. LMAO….I have 5 American bucks that says Mara Gay went straight to google to look up “hominem attack” meaning.

  18. OMG does she not know Cruz is a US Senator? That he represents the People of Texas?

    Who voted for her?

She doesn’t have to agree with him, and she’s certainly entitled to her opinion, but since when are certain subjects off limits to US Senators?

Every day these people find new lows.

    1. She’s a full bore Leftist who thinks that ANY black person, historical or modern day, is the personal property of the Left/Democrat party. There may no longer be any physical slave plantations but there are scores of financial, ideological and intellectual ones and ALL are run by the Leftist Democrat party and their willing dupes. Frederick Douglass could be very fiery when he chose and if he were alive today he’d have scorched this young woman’s bloomers good and well for her patronizing and arrogant remarks.

  19. So I suppose according to her logic white people should just forget everything Martin Luther King , because we’re not allowed to quote people of color….. Stupid woman!

    1. @ryan-o Typical liberal tactic. They use ad hominem attacks and marginalize. “Don’t listen to him!!!”

      1. As the old saying goes: leftists want conservatives to shut up, conservatives want leftists to keep talking.

    2. Because of race. Douglass was black. Cruz is “white.” Therefore Cruz can’t speak those words.

      Typical Leftist BS.

      1. @eric So you’re saying that Cruz is one of those white Hispanics like George Zimmerman?
