Ted Cruz is calling out Beto O’Rourke for labeling police officers as racist, calling them the new Jim Crow:

The video that Cruz is linking to shows O’Rourke doing exactly that:

“Talking about criminal justice reform, let’s talk about where this problem started,” O’Rourke said. “When contractors needed labor, they would talk to local law enforcement, who would arrest African-Americans for idling, for petty crimes, frivolous offenses. Those contractors would describe the number of bodies that they needed and law enforcement would provide those bodies.”
“That injustice … continues to persist today. That system of suspending somebody solely based on the color of their skin, searching that person solely based on the color of their skin, stopping that person solely based on the color of their skin, shooting that person solely based on the color of their skin, throwing the book at that person and letting them rot behind bars solely based on the color of their skin is why some have called this — I think it is an apt description — the new Jim Crow,” he said.
This is the same kind of garbage we heard from Obama. As Cruz points out, the VAST majority of police officers are good, honorable men simply trying to protect the public from criminals. And they put their lives on the line to do it.
But O’Rourke would rather divide people for his political purposes. We saw Obama and his minions do it time and time again. Everytime a black person was shot by a cop – before the facts had even come out, Democrats were decrying it in the streets. Remember Michael Brown?
O’Rourke is trying to tap into that division in order to help him get elected and it’s the last thing Texas needs.
