Ted Cruz responded to a tweet explaining how Youtube (Google) is censoring comments criticizing a Chinese Communist Party “internet propaganda division” named Wumao. Below are the original tweets:
YouTube has deleted every comment I ever made about the Wumao (五毛), an internet propaganda division of the Chinese Communist Party. Who at Google decided to censor American comments on American videos hosted in America by an American platform that is already banned in China?

This appears to be a new global policy on YouTube, not directed at me specifically. Try saying anything negative about the 五毛, or even mentioning them at all. Your comment will last about 30 seconds and get deleted without warning or notice, CCP-censor style. To what end?

It will be interesting to see if this gets any mainstream media coverage over the coming days and weeks. Nothing so far.

A few responded agreeing with Luckey that Google was indeed censoring it for them as well in the chat replay from a livestream video.
Ted Cruz retweeted the complaint saying, “This is very disturbing. Why is Google/YouTube censoring Americans on behalf of the CCP? This is WRONG & Big Tech is drunk with power. The Sherman Act prohibits abusing monopoly power. DOJ needs to stop this NOW.”

In 2010 Google left China because of their demands for censorship of the search platform, among other things. However in 2018 it was reported that Google was back to working with the Chicoms on a secret project called dragonfly, “secret prototype of a new, censored Chinese search engine.” This was the same year it dropped “don’t be evil” from its employee code of conduct. Now it appears in 2020 Google is doing the bidding of the Chicoms right here in the states.
