Last night a Hamas terrorist broke through the fence separating Gaza and Israel and wounded two Israeli soldiers before being killed:
Over the last few hours, an IDF officer and 2 soldiers were wounded after a terrorist from Gaza breached the security fence into Israel and opened fire at them.
The troops responded by shooting and killing the terrorist.

At 2AM last night, a Hamas terrorist—armed with a Kalashnikov and grenades—infiltrated into Israel from Gaza and tried to carry out an attack in an Israeli community a mile away.
Emphasis on the "tried".

The Times of Israel reports that the shooter was named by Gaza media as Hani Abu Salah. He is reportedly a member of the Hamas terror organization and his brother, Fadi Abu Salah, was killed by the IDF last May during one of the Great Return March Protests along the Gaza Border.
The military said Salah was armed with a rifle and grenades and was wearing a Hamas uniform when he attacked IDF soldiers Thursday morning.
The IDF believes he was acting alone.
“This is a very serious incident,” IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis told reporters.
A very serious incident indeed, because it could have been much worse. The IDF reported that Salah’s intention was to attack an Israeli community a mile from the border.
But thanks to the IDF the only one who died last night was the terrorist.
