People are freaking out over a video showing a cop acting very aggressively towards a bunch of kids, most of whom are black, at a pool party.

A police officer in McKinney, which is some 30 miles outside of Dallas, has been placed on administrative leave after a video was posted online that appears to show him being unnecessarily aggressive with a group of black teenagers. Police arrived at a community pool on Friday when several callers reported “multiple juveniles at the location, who did not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave,” according to the local ABC affiliate. The video that was being shot by a bystander shows one white officer in particular yelling loudly at a group of black teenagers and chasing them particularly vigorously. (Right at the beginning of the video he also does a roll for some reason.)
I’m not sure I agree with everyone who’s upset about this video. Just because you have one video doesn’t mean you know all the details. The cop does seem overly aggressive, but maybe there’s a reason for that. Anyway, let us know what you think in the comments.
