Gov. Greg Abbott incurred the wrath of liberals and CNN like you could hardly believe when he told this greatest of states that the time for being locked down by the shackles of government was at an END.
Biden called it neanderthal thinking (prompting Chip Roy to awesomely tell him to “kiss my ass”), some lady on The View said he was worse than Cuomo, Keith Olbermann said Texans deserved to DIE in the snow emergency, and liberal commentators everywhere called it “Anti-Science”. Especially CNN, who added “head-scratching” to “anti-science” in their headline.
But guess WHAT. A little over two weeks after lifting the mandates and opening commerce, giving citizens the right to choose their degree of precaution and business the right to decide the setting in their establishments, amid the fast delivery of vaccines and the warming of the weather, it’s WORKING.
I mean to tell y’all it hasn’t just NOT caused a “mass casualty” event, like the press (looking at you WaPo) insanely predicted, it WORKED at making Texas BETTER.

Today Texas recorded the lowest 7-day Covid positivity rate since that data began being calculated: 5.43%.
We also recorded the largest daily number of vaccines administered to Texans: 342,849.
More Texans getting vaccines will keep down the positivity rate.

Well then Saturday came around.
Texas reported 2,239 new infections Saturday, roughly 500 fewer cases on average from the previous week, according to data from the state’s health department.
Today Texas hit an all-time recorded low for the 7-day Covid positivity rate: 5.27%.
It's been below 6% for 5 days & below 10% for an entire month.
Covid hospitalizations declined again–now at the lowest level since October 3rd.
Vaccinations continue to increase rapidly.

That’s right. Not just not worse. It’s BETTER.
Mandates ain’t what Texas is about. Once Abbot remembered that, Texas started getting well again.
