The Left is going CRAZY over a Sinclair commentary segment defending the tear gassing of migrants

This morning the left is up in arms over a commentary segment that is to air on Sinclair stations around the country defending the tear gassing of migrants as they tried to attack our border on Sunday.

Here’s the segment that Media Matters posted on Twitter:

I don’t know about you, but I thought this segment was both factual and reasonable. I didn’t hear anything that went against the truth of what we know happened on Sunday. It was an attempted invasion by migrants trying to breach our border, and the border patrol ultimately did have to use tear gas to break it up. They did it to protect both themselves and others at the border and there’s nothing to be ashamed of here.

They say this is a ‘must-run’ segment, but so far the segment hasn’t run yet that I can tell. The only Boris segment I can find in my media monitor program is Boris talking about Laura Loomer and the antisemitism of Ilhan Omar. Maybe it will run today though.

Either way, it’s clearly a commentary segment. It says ‘commentary’ on the screen! But again, I didn’t hear anything objectionable in it. And considering how left-wing the media is, one segment like this being run on potentially 200 local stations around the country is really a pittance in comparison. I am glad, however, to see Sinclair running it.

But just look at the responses to this segment below:

Fascism? Seriously?

That’s just a smattering. There are plenty more where people are comparing Sinclair to state-run Russian propaganda, etc.

What’s hilarious is they act as though Sinclair has a monopoly on the local news market, when in reality that’s far from the truth. In some markets they don’t even exist. They do own two stations in my area, with only one of them being a major news station (ABC). But if you go to other markets in my state you’ll see they don’t even exist. It’s said that Sinclair owns almost 200 stations around the country. In 2017 there were almost 1800 stations around the country. You can do the math on that, but at the very least it seems as though they have the same or less influence than other media groups in local markets.
