If that doesn’t leave a mark I don’t know what will. It demonstrates how Trump will say things just to get elected and then abandon them completely once he’s won.
It’s the same with how he attacked Ben Carson in 2016. One day, his enemy. The next day, his best buddy. It may be the same with DeSantis although this feels more serious. But Trump sounded serious about Hillary Clinton, until he didn’t. You really never know how he feels about anything during a campaign because he’s always trying to manipulate.
