The royal baby’s first royal wave as he waves to the crowd

I normally don’t care about the ‘royal anything’ but when Dianna McDougall posted this on twitter it totally cracked me up:

Here’s the photo in action. Be sure and watch the baby’s hand (you may need to give it a second to load):

why is the world fascinated by the british royalty? we have other european, african and asian royalties but they pale in comparison to the amount of interest the british royalty generates. one factor would be the british empire that once ruled  a fourth of the world and many of the commonwealth nations have still  strong relation and ties to britain and of course its monarchy. but the more than stupendous factor if you can believe it is the british royalty is the present-day royal lineage of king david to whom God promised that his posterity shall rule israel from generation to generation. the last judean king, king zedekiah and all his sons were killed during the fall of jerusalem in 586 bc. since then was the royal davidic  line terminated? did God’s promise to david come to nothing? an interesting point was the mysterious movement of the prophet jeremiah during the last days of Jerusalem. he was… Read more »

I know people criticize the coverage of this story, and I agree that it was waaaaay over done. However, with all the negative stories out there, I think it’s wonderful to have a happy story about a new baby. As much as I don’t care that these people are Brit royalty, I am happy for them and the addition to their family. Babies are great! Congrats!

Yes, wonderful. But the media obsession with it is completely mad. I mean stark raving, barking at the moon mad. Must have been a slow news day.

Future King of England born, mom and baby fine, family going home from hospital. Stand by, ‘media’ will be back with a half hour special when the baby takes his first poop. wink wink
Is this historic? Sure it is but enough is enough.

clubgitmo Jay Tesla you honestly can’t take your head out of your rectum for 30 secs to acknowledge the birth of a healthy baby boy that was born to a MARRIED man and woman and was not Gosnelled in the womb. Those 2 things alone make this something to celebrate from my perspective!

Jay Tesla clubgitmo No you can’t take your head out of your ass from glorifying two people who had a baby which happens every day thousands of times to regular people also. To sit in from of a TV and wait until a baby is born, then wait for the parents to show the baby and then name the baby is way over the top IMO. I could care less.

clubgitmo Actually, I do.  First, His Royal Highness Prince William has, by his actions, made it very clear that, even as the future head of state for Great Britain, he wants to be a humble yet godly and strong king for the people of Britain. He has clearly demonstrated himself to be a strong example of kind, gracious, and protective husband to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. The Duchess herself has set a superb example as a wife in being truly supportive to her husband who will become king one day. It is clear that they truly enjoy each other and their commitment to each other is obvious. Our countries are falling apart because the foundations of our societies, the families, are disintegrating. Primarily, fathers in families are running away from their responsibilities to their wives and children. We in the US, Canada, and Great Britain desperately need examples like the… Read more »

They look so happy.  I am very happy for them and mommy is as beautiful as ever.  Even though it has nothing to do with The United States, a little good news is nice.

They look so sweet, calm and happy!  Babies are a joy – and – a lot of work and sleepless nights.  My son-in-law spent a lot of those colic nights on the floor rocking baby granddaughter in her little rocking sling… so my daughter could get a few hours sleep.
When my own were babies, I remember being so tired, I read week old newspapers and drank cold black coffee…and fell asleep whenever I sat down.

I understand the issues with celebrity worship and monarchical government and I share those concerns. But that being said, he is precious and it is great to see a traditional family model (parents married before baby comes along) and the celebration of new life rather than calls for it’s destruction. It is obvious they love one another and their new son and that is refreshing to see!

For all you party-poopers here, I think the new prince’s arrival is really cool, really fantastic! For Canadians and Brits, this is big time. Don’t forget, the king or queen is the head of state for both Great Britain and Canada. He or she is the ultimate leader for those countries, regardless of who is prime minister. Moreover, as much as the U.S. flag is America’s primary symbol – and most Americans love their flag – the king or queen – a person – is the symbol of Great Britain and even more so. He or she is also the head of the Church of England as the pope is the earthly head of the Roman Catholic Church. And, don’t forget that royalty for Great Britain goes back to 1066, making it enormously significant to Great Britain’s history and therefore to the English people themselves. The U.S. has no history… Read more »

PoCoTex It is aristocrisy.I wish them all the best, but as an American,I have serious issues with aristocracy, which is what those in D.C. now see themselves as.Where the common people are subjects instead of citizens.See my post below.

57thunderbird PoCoTex  That’s true, it is an aristocracy.
However, with a king or queen, the subjects can rebel, focusing themselves on one person. Or they can demand a Magna Carta.

In the U.S., the aristocracy is a system that is so diverse and spread-out, where do we start if we want to rebel?

That’s funny.  I’ve never been a follower of the Royal family because the whole thing is a joke.  It’s like a tax funded Hollywood movie, and you’re born as a start and into being taken care of by government for eternity…..and taken care of is putting it lightly.  I think the whole system is stupid.
However, it is not my place to judge.  If the citizens of Britain like it, then they are entitled to do it and enjoy.

Its quite a shame that the grandmother didn’t live to see this one.  Truly a freak accident, but if Diana wasn’t so concerned about getting on with her own love life she would most likely be here to see her first grandchild

jrenai67  Really?  If she wasn’t being pursued at high speeds by an over-intrusive paparazzi she would be alive today.
I don’t blame her for trying to have her own life that doesn’t fit the mold of what is expected from the Royal family.  It would be a form of imprisonment without the freedom of choice. You are making it sound like she should have just been obedient and done what was expected of her.

I could care less, behind all the glammer and the bright lights there is a country with very high unemployment, abortion on demand, sharia law, free speech under attack, a stagnant economy due to big government, etc. Excuse me if I dont celebrate the birth of the so-called King, there is only one king and that is God.

Proudhispanicconservative  I agree with you, but don’t forget that Israel has had a long history of kings too, starting with King Sha’ul (Saul), King David, and King Shlomo (Solomon).
Utlimately, their king today – and my king – is Adonai Yeshua the Anointed (Lord Jesus Christ), God manifest in the flesh, who sits on David’s throne.
The new prince is will be king of a few countries. Yeshua, however, is King of kings and, of course, Lord of lords.

Something akin to our youngest son who humbled his mother and father as a teenager.  From the time he was 14 years old he dreamed about the day four years in the future when he could get a place of his own … away from his controlling parents.  Well … it never happened.  The relationship changed after high school graduation and he was free to make his own choices (for the most part).  This guy was under our roof until was 26 years old  … 2 months … 3 days.  The following day he was married and took up residence with his wife.  Hubby and I celebrated on so many levels.

It is not the royal thing that envokes the adulation. It is a happily married 1 man & 1 woman, who have a new baby, a baby they both wanted.. A baby in England who will not be named ackmed, abdullah, or mohammad. Hopefully.

57thunderbird   Yeah, but they’re a mere figurehead. House of parliament wields the real power. This will do wonders for GB’s economy as everyone will want souvenirs. Dianna seemed like a real down-to-earth mom and I think Kate will follow in those footsteps. Dianna is the reason this generation is so beloved over here.

PoCoTex

SheerPolitics 57thunderbird  I live in Canada and the royals are by no means mere figureheads.

As the true head of state, the Queen today still has ultimate power in British and Canadian governments. She approves all new laws passed by Britain’s parliament and, by proxy through a governor general, new laws in Canada. If the Queen so deemed it necessary, she could dissolve Parliament and sack a prime minister. She can also declare war.
That the Queen hasn’t used those powers doesn’t mean that she is a figurehead.
The Queen knows, moreover, that she reigns by popular consent and could be overthrown if the populace believe she is becoming tyrannical.
