Republican representative Aaron Schock of Illinois destroyed another common liberal narrative of the immigration crisis that says if only Republicans had let Obama pass his immigration reform bill there would be no illegal immigrant child surge at the border.

Democrats want to have it both ways – they say Obama isn’t responsible because illegal immigrants are coming to the U.S. in order to escape violence, but the immigration bill obviously won’t do anything to fix that. On the other hand, they insist that passing amnesty will solve the crisis – how can it possibly do anything except encourage MORE illegal immigrants to make the dangerous trek?
