There’s something very strange regarding the CNN reporter rescuing a man yesterday…

Yesterday a CNN reporter rescued a man whose truck was floating in the flood waters. But there’s something odd about this video that people are noticing.

First watch the video:

Seems legit right? I think it may very well be and I am not just trying to take anything away from them or pile on because Trump hates CNN or something.

But as I said there is something odd and here it is:

At first we see the CNN reporter, Drew Griffin, notice that a truck is floating down the river with a man inside. The camera pans to the truck and then pans back most of the way. Then we see Griffin run toward the truck at 29 seconds in:

Next we see the camera panning over to follow Griffin and we see Griffin wearing brown shorts and sandals around 33 seconds in:

Just after that the video does a transition, noting that it had been cut and edited, perhaps for time. Then we see Griffin pulling the man out of his truck:

Notice Griffin is now wearing pants and black boots! How did that happen? Did he change clothes really fast while the man was floating down the river? Or did he change while the man was kneeling in the grass after the rescue knowing that they were going to go live on camera?

Or is it possible that the man in the red jacket and brown shorts was someone else and not Griffin? If so, why did the camera stop on him?

Also if it was someone else, where was this person after the edit transition? There was only one man in a red CNN jacket rescuing the man in the end and that was indeed Griffin.

As I said I’m not trying to take anything away from CNN. It’s just odd that Griffin appears to have been wearing shorts and sandals beforehand and pants and boots afterward. My gut tells me it was likely the latter of the two scenarios I presented above, that Griffin changed after the rescue and before he went back on camera. But that’s just a guess.

Also the other thing that is odd is that it seems in the very early part of the video that the man actually drove into the floodwaters. Now I don’t know if he actually did or not, I’m just judging from what little the camera showed. It may have absolutely been a mistake on his part.

I understand that video often doesn’t show us everything and people draw errant conclusions all the time from internet videos. It’s not my purpose here to draw a conclusion because clearly we don’t have enough information to do that. But we do have enough information to point out what appear to be inconsistencies or at least weird coincidences.

UPDATE:

Someone pointed out that Griffin’s footsteps we hear as he’s running don’t match the dude wearing the brown shorts and sandals. So it is likely that it is another person from the CNN crew that just got there before the reporter did.
