“They will not enter the United States” – Biden’s DHS chief warns fleeing Cubans to STAY IN CUBA

Biden’s DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas just told any Cubans thinking about fleeing to the US to stay in Cuba. And if they attempt to flee Cuba, they’ll be returned to Cuba:

NY POST – Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had a stern warning Tuesday for Cubans and Haitians thinking of escaping the ongoing unrest in both countries by sailing to the US: Don’t even think about it.

“The time is never right to attempt migration by sea,” Mayorkas said during a news conference. “To those who risk their lives doing so, this risk is not worth taking. Allow me to be clear: If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States.”

Mayorkas, whose own family fled Cuba for the United States following Fidel Castro’s rise to power, added that any would-be refugees intercepted by the Coast Guard or any other law enforcement agency would be returned to their country of origin. Those who could provide what Mayorkas called a “well-founded fear of persecution or torture” would be referred to other countries for resettlement.

“They will not enter the United States,” the DHS secretary added.

According to Mayorkas, 20 people have lost their lives in recent weeks attempting to traverse the Straits of Florida and the Caribbean Sea.

It’s okay for illegals to make that difficult trek to our border and to cross it, but to Cubans who are fleeing communism, PLEASE DON’T COME.

So much for America being the land of hope.

Look, the trek across the Straits of Florida is probably a dangerous one and I don’t believe US officials should be encouraging it. But Mayorkas not only discouraged it, he said if they are caught they will be sent back to Cuba. That sound pretty dang unamerican, especially to a people who are being crushed by their government.

Some on the right suggest this is all about voting:
