In the wake of the very destructive Hurricane Harvey, as hurricane victims are being rescued by both government entities and private citizens with boats, Politico decides to insult the hurricane victims in Texas with this cartoon from Matt Wuerker, their staff cartoonist and illustrator:
UPDATE: Politico just deleted it so I’m moving my screenshot up:
Wow they just can’t contain their condescending liberalism. People are still being rescued and this is how Politico portrays them, as backward, stupid Christians who are hypocrites because they hate the very government that is saving them or can’t tell the difference between God and government?
What the hell?
Here’s how Twitter responded to this:
Hard to see any justification for being so condescending to people who are suffering… https://t.co/ddNKazQ4wC

my god
imagine spending hours drawing and inking this w/o ever thinking "holy shit, am I an asshole?" https://t.co/Cy2EGPXa4M— PoIiMath (@politicalmath) August 30, 2017
Making fun of hurricane victims, that is a new low for @politico. Spreading the hate and dividing the nation. https://t.co/TfROKCS7gm

Further evidence that Politico believes government is God. https://t.co/rhgkwrtAWg
