A couple of thugs wearing ski masks brutally attacked one of the big stars from Fox’s hit “Empire” as he was coming out of a Subway restaurant. They called him a ‘f***ot’ and reportedly yelled “This is MAGA country” after they’d broken his rib and poured bleach on him, as they were walking away:
TMZ – “Empire” star Jussie Smollett was brutally attacked by 2 men who beat him up, put his head in a noose and screamed, “This is MAGA country.”
Sources directly connected to Jussie tell TMZ, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway. We’re told when he walked out, someone yelled, “Aren’t you that f***ot ‘Empire’ n*****?”
The 2 men — both white and wearing ski masks — viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. They put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him and as they left they yelled, “This is MAGA country.”
Jussie took himself to Northwestern Memorial where he was treated. He was discharged later Tuesday morning.
TMZ also has a picture of letters that were sent to Smollett at Fox studios threatening him with MAGA written on one of them – although it looks like a kid wrote the letters with a water marker or something.
In any event, what happened to Smollett was horrible. I’ve honestly never heard of him until now, as I’ve never watched Empire before, but nobody deserves what happened to him. I hope the cops don’t waste any time catching these thugs and identifying them.
Also, I’m sure once the media takes a break from breathlessly reporting on Roger Stone, they’ll zero in on the alleged MAGA statement from these thugs and blame Trump for it. I have no doubt about it.

A Chicago Police spokesperson told The Daily Beast that the attackers’ genders was unknown, and that their faces and hands had been covered. TMZ reported that the attackers shouted “This is MAGA country,” but police told the Beast, “There is no report of that being said.”
Wow. So maybe they didn’t make the MAGA statement after all.
