Elitism and sexism in media has been incredibly visible the last four years. They used to pretend at everyman sensibilities, but the rule of the day lately, especially within the last year, is to embrace that snobbery and make it into a career, like literally everyone at CNN.
That includes their “climate” reporter Bill Weir, who tried to bash Kelly Loeffler and just exposed himself. (Not in a Toobin way. Not yet anyway.)
The choice of words in this is just perfect.
Good news, Georgia!
If you live on a farm, you now qualify to marry the Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange! https://t.co/dLXFantplB— Bill Weir (@BillWeirCNN) November 18, 2020
Let’s look at some of the responses, shall we?
This is why no trusts CNN. It's a party for wealthy, elitist jerks who love to slander citizens.

The sheer snobbish elitist smug odor this person from @Cnn emits is hardly surprising… But you'd think, you know, #Unity https://t.co/2LpQK45FkP

Bill, come on man. This is a really gross statement.

CNN and TikTok users seem hellbent on handing the Senate over to the GOP, which is odd to me as they don't seem to be political allies.
— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) November 18, 2020
Well, this is amazingly sexist, but if it’s channeled towards a conservative I guess that’s OK.
Kelly Loeffler is significantly more accomplished than Bill Weir by a factor of about 1 billion with or without marriage, but demean her success story anyway… it’s what CNN does. https://t.co/0QNDrMGhIG

You're a very good journalist. I'm really proud of you.
— Amelia (@AmeliaHammy) November 18, 2020
Are you serious with this take? Are you actually suggesting that her success just came from marriage? Because it sounds like you should read a bit more.
— Matt Whitlock (@mattdizwhitlock) November 18, 2020
Wow, dude. Misogynist much?
— Chris Wilson (@WilsonWPA) November 18, 2020
Just some casual sexism from CNN.
But no one will be mad because it’s about a Republican woman and the left is ok with that. https://t.co/qepXewZhND

Absolutely disgusting take.
— Sarah Selip (@SarahSelip) November 18, 2020
Good news, Georgia!
You can be a sexist dumbass and work for CNN!Bill your jealousy speaks volumes! https://t.co/uvxkZdjVB3

Plenty of successful women have grown up on farms, risen ranks in business world, and married equally accomplished men. What’s your problem? https://t.co/Vu9bfbxOEE
— Gabriella Hoffman (@Gabby_Hoffman) November 18, 2020
The killing blow is from Joni Ernst.
1. This is outrageous sexism.
2. Women who grow up on a farm can do anything we want to do, and yes, that includes be a United States Senator. https://t.co/JsqLJtZpAl

Well said.
