This is Pelosi’s version of “compromise” on the relief bill and it is laughable!

Nancy Pelosi is finally willing to ‘compromise’ on the relief bill, if that’s what you call this:

FOX NEWS – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Friday that Democrats were willing to compromise at $2 trillion for the fourth coronavirus stimulus package, but that the Trump administration rejected their offer.

Pelosi, D-Calif., said Friday that Democrats have been “mightily trying to find common ground.”

“We’ll take down a trillion, if you add a trillion,” Pelosi said Friday.

This has to be the worst ‘meet in the middle’ negotiation tactic I’ve heard heard. If you agree to waste another TRILLION in taxpayer money, then you’ve got a deal!

Thankfully Pelosi said Republicans wouldn’t go for the deal: “They said absolutely not…”

Senate Republicans are pushing a package with a price tag of approximately $1 trillion, while Democrats’ HEROES Act, which passed in May, reaches about $3.4 trillion. Republicans and Democrats have reached a stalemate in negotiations, prompting President Trump to float the possibility of taking executive action to provide some economic relief to Americans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin acknowledged on Friday that the idea of the White House and Republicans adding $1 trillion to their price tag for the fourth package was a “a non-starter.”

Republicans already let team Pelosi railroad them earlier this year as they rushed to dole out cash to try and keep the economy from falling off the deep end. I’m glad Mnuchin is rejecting this as a non-starter.

Since ‘negotiations’ (I use that word loosely) are at a stalemate, all eyes will be on Trump to see if he keeps his promise.
