This is so cool!

Business Insider has posted on Twitter an animated map of how religions have spread across the world since the dawn of man. In a general sense it looks pretty accurate, but I’m no expert.

I will say I didn’t realize Hinduism was so old, but this video shows it as the first religion to pop up, even before the birth of Abraham.

Watch:

Did you see how quickly Islam spread after Muhammad’s birth? It wasn’t because the message of Islam was so contagious, if you will, it was by the sword. And this is something the current generation has forgotten. Many of those countries are Muslim because they were conquered by Muslims.

On the other hand, compare it to the spread of Christianity, which took much longer to move around the world. Don’t get me wrong, Christianity has had to fight for it’s survival with the sword, but that’s not how it spreads. Christianity is spread through the life that God breathed into it, which was through the life, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His Son. And He alone is what makes alive so many dead souls and that’s how Christianity spreads.

Also notice how large Islam became in the Middle East:

To harken back to Daniel 2, it says:

And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others.

This map perfectly illustrates why Islam is the fourth kingdom in Daniel 2. Just look at how much it conquered geographically. The totality of Islam was much larger than the Babylonian, Persian, or Grecian empires. And it’s much larger than the Roman Empire, which never conquered Persia.

This is why it’s the fourth kingdom of Daniel 2.

UPDATE: I should note that people were worshipping God from the beginning, since Adam, even before Hinduism. Job was before Abraham. Noah was before Abraham. Keep in mind that this animated map is only referring to organized religions as we know them today. But Christianity, even before it was called Christianity, has existed from the beginning.
